# Week of October 5, 2026

> Weekly Arka changelog: Arka is now licensed under MIT.

A quiet week with one licensing update.

## Improvements

* **Arka is now MIT licensed.** Arka moves from GPL-2.0 to the MIT license. You can use, modify, and redistribute Arka, including in commercial and closed-source projects, as long as you keep the copyright and license notice. The `arka-agent` package metadata now lists MIT, and new contributions are accepted under MIT.
